Imagine we wanted to make an exact copy of the pyramids in Egypt, the great pyramid specifically.
Never mind building them without machines. Do you think mankind, not just the current residents of Egypt, but do you think in this world there exists the technical know how and political will to even be able to do it?
50,000 Nubian slaves won't get shit built without someone there with a plumb bob and the know how.
There is not much know how in pyramids. And I can't imagine what use of their technologies could be useful today for anything.
You know, tech of making wooden wheels for a wagon is pretty interesting and sophisticated (more than pyraminds, IMO), but who the fuck could need it today?
Same with pyramids. Humanity built a lot of things much bigger and sophisticated than pyramids. Take an average HPP dam f.e. or starting table of a cosmodrome. I could not think out not only why anybody will want to build a pyramid, but even if he want, why whould he use that ancient and ineffective tech?
I sometimes wonder if ancient civilizations realized that the poles shift and this shape could withstand the massive waves that might wipe out an area. Why are ocean fishing weights in a pyramid shape? Because they don't move easily in the tide
In plato's original story about atlantis, its claimed that egypt was the safest place, where instead of the water rushing over, it always came from below, or something. Really strange detail.
Everywhere else, the water would either wash everyone away, or the fire would burn everyone up in the mountains.
Just one of those things that sticks out to me for some reason. Sounds similar to thomas chans adam and eve story.
The Thomas Chan Adam and Eve story is what I was thinking about
Ancient people was pretty competent, really. Especially in questions of protecting themselves from natural disasters. Othewise humanity wouldn't had survived.
However, pyramid shape is just simpliest to build and most stable shape possible. Most stable is tetraeder, but it is more complex to build - you have to do more math and use not only bricks with right angles. You could build pyramid of any size without any complex math. Easy to design, easy to calculate necessary material, easy to explain what to do to slaves. So, that pyramid shape.
Ancient people loved to follow KISS (Keep It Simple, Stupd!) principle. Meanwhile, this is a sign of high level of competence too.
The "pyramids" are not just stones stacked into the shape of a pyramid. You should look more into what is inside the pyramids before spouting stupid shit like "they are simple".
The great pyramid itself is actually, 8 sided, not 4.
Simple, it was not.
Yea, but a giant pyramid, built to the exact specifications. Perfectly lined up with the north star, smooth sided (before the arabs mucked it up) seams so tight a piece of paper wouldn't fit in. No mortar. Hidden rooms and tunnels. etc. etc.
Could we do it today, even using jackhammers to remove the stone and cranes to put it on trucks to bring it in from the quarry and large forklifts to put them in place, and steel girders to build a ramp to get the stones to the top.
Could we do it?
Frankly I'm skeptical.
Large stone blocks from natural stone is cuted out from rock using rope saw, not with jackhammers. It is self-aligning thing, so you get precise flat cut out of the box. Just modern ones use polymer ropes and modern abrasives. Oh, and electrical/diesel power instead of slaves.
What could be a problem with that? It is not a rocket science to find axis of Earth roatation at all.
Occupying a very small part of whole volume. IDK, did you ever saw a smoke-duct path inside a traditional Russian stove? That's the pinnacle of ancient topology of internal cavities, not that pyramid tunnels.
Easily. And it will be much better pyramid then Egyptian ones. The question is only in an idiot who will agree to finance building of such useless thing.
What the fuck with you, people? Yes, pyramids are cool monuments of ancient architects and builders. Nice. We will never find out exact methods used to build them. You could endlessly guess what exact fiber they use for ropes of rope saws or what configuration or levers and how many slaves exactly they needed to move stones. We could never find out. But what's the point of that, seriously? Do we urgently need to build a pyramid for some Soros or Rothshild mummy? Or is it have to be built using exact ancient tech now just because?
I don't see any use for pyramid itself and its building tech details unless you are an archeologist whose job to study that monument.
As for conspiracy part of pyramids "mystery". If there was some "advanced" "alien" "lost" technology used to build pyramids, then I have to make you sad.
No advanced technology exists by itself. There are always enormous amount of things in line to make that technology exist. Even if it is a magic wand, there should be whole industry to mass produce them. Not even talking about something not from fairy tales. But no any traces of tha found.
If you are looking for mystery in pyramids, then why you stuck on their properties, instead of searching and studying archeological artifacts with unimaginable purpose? Remnants of some unknown technology or something like. That should be the main direction of research, not that endless dancing around pyramids and posting already rotten shit about "how they did it"/"today it is impossible" round and round.
Bring here some obviously technological archeological artifact found somwhere in Egypt that is clearly out-of-time, too advaced for ancient Egypt and having unknown purpose. Well, even ancient Egyptian screw with cross head will be much more interesting than this endless "they build them, now we can't do the same". Not even talking about some more interesting and puzzling things that could really be a part of that "lost advanced ancient techology". That would be cool and interesting, not yet another standard post with standard phrases and deceit about regular things.
It is really doesn't fit in my head, how someone could wonder about pyramids technology, but have no any real intent to look for that techology.
Or I got all that wrong and real goal is just to sow a narrative "ancient Egyptians had a technology we don't have"? Then it is even more weird. What is the real purpose of pushing such narrative?
No, I don't think the ancient Egyptians used special secret tech.
I'm not an construction engineer, I don't care about the details of the construction, such as how we cut the rock. Maybe we use rock saws and polish them which wire brushes. I don't care, just using the most efficient modern methods. Why quibble about the how?
Purpose? The purpose to them was to magnify the greatness of their civilization, as embodied in their god-king the pharaoh. That's reason enough for them. Also, it kept the peasants busy outside growing season and they got some money for the work.
What narrative? I'm not pushing any secret narrative. I'm asking a question.
Lol, i mean your not wrong, but you cant compare something like the great pyramid to a modern work.
Something like a dam or skyscraper is built using modern materials, concrete that breaks down and steel that will eventually rust. Although the romans had concrete that still stands today, I doubt it would last 10,000 years.
We use these materials because they are easier to transport, and cast/form, than stone which is what was used in the construction of the great pyramid.
Sure, we could do it, but how long would it take, how much money would it take. It would certainly require the largest cranes known to man, but somehow these ancient people did it in, supposedly 20 years?
Then on top of that, the site itself is aligned with the stars, though some would argue that is just coincidence somehow, so it seems to have been intended to convey a message.

I do wonder if there is any truth that the pyramid contains the volume of the earth, or the equation for the speed of light though.

:Shrugs:
You could make concrete of any quality, it only depends on price. Concrete used, f.e. in building NPP reactor zones is magnitude orders better than any roman concrete you could find out. It will last for hundreds of millenia if not thousands.
Really, concrete checmistry is much more interesting and, what is more important, useful mystery than all pyramides of the Earth together. It is really still only partially studied, and not all processes going in concrete have explanation, despite our use of concrete for millenias.
Rebar does not rust inside concrete, because it is protected by alkaline environment of concrete. If you follow guidelines and do not allow rebar to stick out and keep at least 5cm between rebar and concrete surface it will last forever even in underwater constructions.
Egyptian astronomer need only to find directions to the sunrise and sunset of any day, then find a middle. Today we will name it vector algebra and sum of two vercotrs pointing to sunrise and sunset will be vector directed precisely to the axis of earth rotation, we don't really have to. People learned to precisely half things long before Egypt.
In any case, all that pyramides things is undoubtely fascinating, but I can't imagine that anybody here never heard about pyramides and didn't read similar posts thousands of times already.
Funny, that this constant repeating that Egyptians build pyramides with assumption that we could not do that now is even more puzzling then pyramides themselves. Like some cult that demands constant praising pyramids. IDK, choose some date (may be "encoded" in pyramides), make that day a "Egyptian pyramides day" and celebrate it. Would be a nice archeological holiday.
Our ancestors did a tons of interesting and amazing things and we don't know how exactly they did it. But all that things have no any relevance today, and nobody need to repeat them. They without a doubt have significance in historical sense, and deserve place in books and articles, but it is just senseless to repeat them again and again like they are something in line with current conspiracies.
I'm all for discussing anything weird and strange from bigfoot and UFO to pyramids and greek fire, but only in presense of some new information. Repeating all that old and well-known stuff everybody already read in hundreds of books and thousands of posts is extremely weird and looks like some strange conspiracism cult. We assemble together and tell each other exactly same old stories round and round. And it is even do not bring anything for soul or thought, unlike, say, church service or just listening beloved music. It's fucking weird.
