There is a water tower, I checked out the whole scene in Google VR the watertower 100% had a vantage point Trump, seemed like it was about twice the distance away from where the known shooter was.
Known shooter was on a roof 150 yards away from Trump. 150 yards is an easy shot. 300 yards isn't too much more difficult, but you need some training, and some rifles won't be able to do it accurately.
It seems like if there were two shooters they could have got him. But they didn't because they were worried about fallout. So there was no point in the second shooter.

Why would there be a dead guy on the tower when TPTB always make sure everyone thinks the patsy was a "lone nutter"?
