I believe in escalation , but for different reasons .

US gov is in disarray due to infighting
Ukraine and war against Russia needs more money
Petrodollar was being attacked by BRICS+++ from most sides
US hegemony and Israel by extension are kept alive by petrodollar and Us bond market and Fed money printing
If petrodollar crashes, it all comes tumbling down
Cue 70s script, after Nixon took dollar off gold standard and US was in trouble:
Manufacture a war in Middle East, rise oil prices, cut off oil flows from Russia and Middle East, engineer a stock market crash, force money go into US gov debt, enforce petrodollar supremacy , make a global margin call on USD/eurodollar denominated short term debt, bankrupt enemies, buy their assets ten cents on dollar, buy back US debt on discount from distressed players, then issue more US long term debt, print more dollars, export it by buying up everything cheaply with strengthened dollar abroad, let others suffer inflation , start a new arms race, increase domestic weapons production with improved employment , unite bickering Dems/Reps again as a War UniParty, use the printed money to bribe and grease the wheels abroad and at home. Sell shit tons of more weapons the world over.
Another 20-50 year extension on the failing empire that is USA.
