I always believed I would be one of those guys in my 60's doing an Iron man competition. I still have tremendous strength, stamina and drive but I would need to train for the event. I definitely use different muscle groups working construction. I just don't have the time to train because I work so much. My recovery time when I get injured is a little longer. I need to remind myself not to jump off of a 4-5 foot stair landing, it definitely makes my knees hurt for a week
I'll be 49 in December and I do tree work. I love it. It's like Xanax to me, and equally addictive.
People see me coming and they move to the other side of the road, as David Lowery once said.
That being said, I've never been in a fight and never will be (of my own actions) so don't think that I'm trying to scare anyone ever. It just kinda....happens. And then I talk and people calm down.
And that's all because every single day is a workout. An exercise in tolerance and perseverance. Haha!
You can't exercise due to being in management?
Oh, I'm on the move all day. I usually get 10,000 steps before lunch and lots of climbing
