A lot of weird stuff went on. Yes the kids were at home, school cancelled that day, and the alarms didn't sound.

Instead of using locals they called in people from Maryland and other outsiders to do search and rescue.

Some groups (red cross??) Were found hiding and getting rid of bodies, not sure why. Maybe to minimize the grotesque nature?

There was a burned animal seen - but instead of it burning like normal ashes, it like petrified, looked like something in a microwave. Maybe some kids got that.

They are combing through the area very very slowly. Probably hiding evidence as they go.

Reminder, they turned off the water, as well.

And prevented donations from being handed out if they weren't from fema or the red cross.

Many children were home alone while parents were working. When the disaster struck, there was no guidance to them to get to safety, and even if they had tried, they did not have cars. Maybe bicycles, on a bike you are not fireproof and gusts would have fried the kids. But many thinking to stay sheltered in their home as a safe haven were burned up in the houses. I believe most of the missing kids were burned alive. May god punish the authorities who did not even sound the alarm sirens.

The insurance companies aren't paying out. The laws which prevented building on Maui have a clause that developers can build if there is a natural disaster, and they get the land cheap. They don't have to obey normal regulations regarding water use and access.

And the people who generally survived were those that either did not rely on government and/or ignored govt mandates - the cops trapped them in an area where they got roasted. The people on foot who disobeyed were fine.
