Note: the OP of the thread (and guy who runs the linked website, arete) is known to provide cover for prolific shills/incite inter-community conflicts. His site has been accused of providing browser fingerprints to would be doxxers as well.
Edit: he has also admitted to reading private messages and using their contents to assist a massive shill in continuing his shilling operation.
Oh yeah, and another thing. Elvis banned a proven shill for, among other offenses, sockpuppeting, vote manipulation, astroturfing, and support of pedophilia - he then accepts an undisclosed amount of money from this shill, unbans him, and proceeds to protect him for the next year+, even overturning multiple bans of this user by other, less subverted moderators until they quit in protest.
Someone tried to tell me the benefit of registering to have a weed card was that you could be anon. In a room full of signs about being on camera at all times.
Privacy offline isn't really easily obtainable in this world. People delude themselves to think otherwise.
Because ones consent to suggested "internet" exposes self to others. Doxxing implies exposure of others by self. Why give those who expose self the privilege to expose others?

Just a word of warning
It's the internet. There's no such thing as 'private'.
Someone tried to tell me the benefit of registering to have a weed card was that you could be anon. In a room full of signs about being on camera at all times.

Then why is "no doxxing" a rule?

If it's voluntarily uploaded to the internet, it's fair game. But it's still a rule not to be shared.
Theater, just like everything else.
Same reason there a "no murders" rule
Just because you can doesn't mean you should
