One day we will all be cut off from the internet.
Begin archiving information and truth for yourself. Print copies. Save to local backups. Print to pdf and make hard copies of the most important truths. Build your own library.
^This^
Off-line storage has never been cheaper. You don't want to trust the 'cloud' for anything important.
Even cheap offline storage isn't a sure thing in the future.
Aren't most of the hard drive companies monopolized by two or three companies? Western digital, Seagate, Samsung, Hitachi? And those four probably share some suppliers for components. A factory burns down hard drives can double in price again.
What's going to happen there is that SSD technology is getting cheaper, faster, and pretty dense though nothing beats a multiplatter hard drive for density. But before Intel closed things down I worked on a 16 terabyte SSD and I know in the future others will have big storage units.
Yes. Its exactly this. At least keep some hard drives. Correct.
Those with access to corporate and school printers should be doing hero stuff.
Plus. Preserve the books. Hide them. Vs. Cultural revolution and pol pot types.
Great advice! Seeing this sub go down is a good reminder to save everything
We are cut off from the internet. This is a controlled space already. It will get smaller and more controlled. But they will never remove their control tool
I wish ^^.
Where have you been? Under a rock?
Reddit is going to a paid API and the pricing is stupidly retarded. I guess there were third party apps, like apollo made by some douche knocker from nova scotia, that stripped out the ads and tracking. But because of the api pricing, they cant afford the hundreds of thousands of dollars it would take to use the api.
I guess many moderators use third party apps to moderate as well and this is going to make it harder for them. Like I really feel sorry for these fucking douchenozzle mods as well.
I hope the site dies, but prolly not. Theres a new sucker born every minute.
Many subreddits are going private for a couple days to "protest" the changes. Aint going to change reddits mind, spetz only goal seems to be money.
The protest is starting tomorrow June 12th… maybe they were testing going dark before tomorrow… the sub is back up now
it deff happened today. I looked there when this site was down briefly and saw the same msg
Good to know, thought it was just an error I was seeing. But looks like the sub is back up now
Lmao
