This elected leader gave many speeches about the wonderful things he would do. He was going to secure the borders, right historic grievances, Make things Great Again after geopolitical enemies had taken advantage of the nation for years. In the end, he left the country in ruins. Pic unrelated. (media.conspiracies.win)

I look at what people do, not what they say. Hitler talked a lot, but in the end, he didn't do much of value.

Would be interesting to hear theories on how Hitler could have won that war.

I wonder what the key military strategic mistakes were.

General Patton realized we were on the wrong side, spoke openly about it and was murdered shortly afterwards. Look into the details of his death. Military truck comes out of nowhere and tries to run him over. no witnesses, no other injuries, no arrests, no investigation.

I still didn't read the above though, so I am not sure of its quality.

I think Hitler's biggest mistake is that he didn't understand that his country was being setup for destruction, I believe he had some dealings with the British aristocracy before the war and they double crossed him. I think he only realized it after the Russian campaign. Also Mussolini really ruined things.

Invading Russia before he had pushed England to make peace, and invading Russia in the fall, then splitting his forces and not capturing Moscow. Germany likely could not have done an amphibious assault of England, but could have gotten them eventually to settle for an uneasy peace like Napoleon had done.

Then there was declaring war on the US. Remember, the Soviet Union was at war with Germany as an ally of England and the US, but it was not at war against Japan until the very end. You could have had a situation where the US was at war with Japan and suppling materials and arms to England, but without direct US warfighting with Germany which soon entailed in N. Africa and then Italy in 1942-43 after Germany declared war on the US.

A lot of people say that Operation Barbarossa, Germany's surprise attack on the Soviet Union was pre-emptive of the Soviets going to eventually attack them anyway. The record of Stalin's intentions in this regard are not clear, but if they were going to attack Germany, it probably wouldn't have been prior to Germany forcing a peace on England.

Of course, counter-factuals scenarios always have rebuttals, and the only thing we can go on in big historical events is what actually happened, but rebuttals can be weak or strong.

This is an incredibly ignorant statement and I believe this is all just a troll. Even a completely unaware moron would have to admit that Hitler's achievements were remarkable. Germany was destitute and permanently hamstrung after WW1. Undoing that and becoming so powerful it required virtually the rest of the world to crush them is a huge deal.

Germany was destitute and permanently hamstrung after Hitler, just as before, if not worse.

End results matter, words matter little.
