Look to limited or deflationary assets. Gold and silver come to mind but you have to consider the problem with counterfeit pm‘s (more when dealing with every day use) and then the paper market continually holding the price down. But holding the pyhsical is great for protecting against inflation.
Then there is digital gold (aka Bitcoin) and crypto. The beauty here is the before mentioned qualities. Recent history is volatile (upwards) but if the banking crisis continues (and it will), there will be a flood/melt-up, which reflects both on crypto‘s properties but also inflation.
There are only so many places to invest smaller and mid sized amounts of money. Real Estate is nice but requires larger amounts of money unless you fractionalize it.
The problem is that there is no safe place to preserve any valuable assets.
Your house. In your basement. In a safe. With the guns you own.

A quarter million dollars would be under 8 pounds of gold. It’s not too difficult to move, hide, bury, etc.
Sustainability. If you can make clean water, food, and energy on property you own free and clear that would be a preserved valuable asset.
