The USA was originally founded by immigrants from NORTHERN and WESTERN Europe. They were WHITE EUROPEAN immigrants and mostly CHRISTIAN.
A nation is a PEOPLE. A country is a regional area with enforced borders.
We currently do not have a nation and do not have a country. It's open borders and a clusterfuck of odd people from around the world who do not get along and can't get along because they are culturally too different. Do you want to listen to the loud siren call for prayer five times a day to prove your TOLERANCE for Islam? I don't either.

To do that, you need a place where you could welcome distinct people, i.e. new country. I see no realistic way to do it in any existing country.
