A) Those countries are committed to vertical sprawl. The US srawls horizontally. The utility falls considerably in that setup.

B) We would have to exchange airports with trainports - megastructures that go out to other cities. This, unlike airports, would mean huge swathes of land stolen from the property owners to have a high speed rail line.

C) The distances that make it work in Europe are small. NYC to Chicago is farther that London to Berlin.

D) We already have hugely subsidized passenger rail from major city to major city. Its not heavily used.

Don't be silly op, we do have those in the US except their buried below ground and the system in place is not for the every day common Man. There is not one "National Park" that doesn't have access to the system, but if you go wandering about on a hunch to find the secrets then you will become a statistic and your miserable death will only be known to you and the small group of death dealers that thrive on being exclusive evil clowns.

There's a map floating around on the interwebs that shows a layout of all known underground tunnels and caves, then superimposed right over that map is a map of "missing persons" and their last known whereabouts. But alas, buried in the pile of other "conspiracy theories" it becomes less known about by design, but do research if your brave enough and you will see something intriguing.

It is said that one can easily and hastily travel from one coast to another underground by only changing trains 3 times. While the body doubles distract the peasants the real snakes travel on rails below.

On the other hand, why would they indeed bring such expeditious travel options to a populace their trying to herd into 15 minute prison cities?

Carry On!!!

Someone let the Leftists know how many undocumented immigrants/new Democrat voters those high-speed rail lines can carry. At least we can get a new train built through Mexico. Pretty close!

German trains aren't that good. they are canceled all the time with no customer assistance or alternatives. I might rate Italian and German trains equally as far as dependability.

California has been forced to cancel the massive bullet train project after having spent and wasted many billions of dollars.

They owe the Federal Government three and a half billion dollars. We want that money back now. Whole project is a “green” disaster! — Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) February 14, 2019

Trump was alluding to a grant California had been given by the Obama administration back in 2010 as part of its “stimulus package,” which included a national push for high-speed rail. Around $2.5 billion has already been spent, under close federal supervision. But $929 million of the grant has yet to be drawn down, and to make it clear Trump wasn’t just bluffing, his administration sent word earlier this week that it was “canceling” the money, per CBS:

The U.S. Department of Transportation announced Tuesday that the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) intends to cancel millions of dollars in federal grant funds designated for the California High-Speed Rail project.

The FRA intends to cancel $929 million in grant funds that have yet to be paid to the project which was meant to connect between Los Angeles and San Francisco.

Moreover, the FRA echoed Trump’s demand that California send back the $2.5 billion in federal funds already spent on the project, as the Los Angeles Times reported:

The Transportation Department also said it was “actively exploring every legal option” to get back an additional $2.5-billion grant that is being used to finance the construction of 119 miles of rail line in the Central Valley.'

*Written from the left hand, but revealing none-the-less.

This 'Central Valley' corridor is the same area that was burned by mysterious fires that melted metal and destroyed homes but not nearby trees. This would solve a lot of issues of displacement and environmental studies.

Nearby rival wineries grapes also affect. Jus sayin.

Anyway.....high financiers (J.P. Morgan's raiders) became railroad magnates as middleman to most commerce. (Evergreen Sr, who still hooks up with the kids)....

Would they have plans for the future too?*

How stupid is this board when you're conflating passenger travel with commercial transport of goods? You telling me Japan is moving coal on bullet trains? Holy shit you guys are terrible at this job.
