As an indication of how bad the situation is, the controversy over O'Keefe came up on the last couple of episodes of the No Agenda show (1529 and 1530, I think). One of the listeners wrote in with specific first-hand information, which was relayed during the show.
He's the executive director of either one or both of the PV legal entities. He said the board was completely happy with O'Keefe and that the whole story was BS, made up out of a very minor technical legal matter.
So how to interpret this latest event? (1) The board was always compromised and they just now pulled the plug. (2) This executive director was taking pains to spread disinfo first-hand. (3) Shadowy forces leaned on the board hard enough and quickly enough to make them fold like a cheap suit.
We can also observe that "they" let O'Keefe run out a lot of line before they jerked him out of the water. Such evidence always brings to my mind the picture of someone sitting in a room monitoring events and making decisions at a couple of levels of abstraction above where virtually everyone else is paying attention (well, those that are paying attention at all).
I suppose that's 4D chess, and we just saw a move.
Probably the entire point of this. The people behind this are probably hoping that whatever new venture James starts will have a small fraction of the following since its under a new identity. Plus the mainstream news outlets will use this whole thing as another facet of smearing him, something along the lines of "disgraced from his own organization, harassing/being mean to his own volunteers."
What puzzles me the most is how these people were able to be put into board positions in the first place. One of them is a managing director of Goldman Sachs according to his Twitter bio... seriously???
