In Colorado, if you trap wildlife, it must be put down. We trapped a trash panda in a new house under construction and I took it out to a field to shoot it, but it got away. I had to scare it before it ran off. Stupid thing just started at me like I was going to feed him. Never got a shot off

I found a stray cat at my apartment complex. Clearly a stray. Sweet dude but still had his balls and had never heard or seen a fan before (obviously never been in a home in AZ). I called 3 different no kill foster/shelters. All told me there was a law that all strays had to go to the pound. The pound puts them to sleep if they aren't adopted quickly. By law they were not able to take him. I have to fill out literally 11 pages of paperwork and pay a fortune swearing that I was abandoning him etc. It was awful.

I ended up taking him in as number 5 kitty. Now when I meet cats outside I tell them I can't help. It's so sad. I know these older, unhealthy, not pretty cats would be put to sleep at the pound. Stupid laws.

I have three rescue kitty's myself. One is fully blind with his eye removed.

Fuck the government. They are no good unless they can support you. If they cannot they don't exist..that's my rule. The government only exists to help me. If they can not they do not.

Most states have clearly defined laws regarding wildlife. Often it seems like over reach and the enforcement is heavy handed, but what is the conspiracy?

“That’s why the DNR is in place, we have places for these animals. We just can’t rehab every animal that we get a call on. I understand that Julie took in everything. But what happens is, she has to call us and say she has it,” Gorno said. “We just don’t want everybody to do it and not be inspected because then you’re going to have facilities that aren’t good for these animals.”

The conspiracy is that these governments seem to think that no one but them is qualified to do anything, thus stealing agency from the people for no reason whatsoever. Make everyone sick, weak, and dumb so they have to rely on the system.

Seriously, the reason is "if we don't kill it now, we might have to kill it later", assuming this person is going to put these animals in a situation so bad that death is preferable. He straight up admits that the government doesn't have the resources to do the job, but can't allow anyone else to do it because they need to be in charge.

Yes I agree there is too much over reach and the response is over agressive, they should be held accountable as well. The truth is though, there are no government resources given to fund rehabbers and what little help from trained and qualified wildlife experts gets quickly overwhelmed. From working in the rehabber's world, I can say honestly that people do weird and stupid shit to defenless animals. The answer seems to lie, like most things with government over reach is the need for citizens to get involved in government instead of letting bureaucracy take over. This is clearly a case of over reach and we need to establish some means of taking back our say in how government is allowed to respond. Believe me, there are times when they are needed to respond, as there are many things I can't unsee with regard to the treatment of animals. Even rehabbers in this social structure become groomed to have an over reach mentality. My difficulty in seeing the conspiracy of this is that this is a wide ranging social problem in most all systems and not at all hidden.
