All it takes is for the current (ostensibly) democratic American government to be pushed down by Communist revolutionaries to initiate a grand cleansing.
It could be accounted as treason commited willingly by FBI and other three-letter agencies.
Look - by collecting information on US citizens they indirectly restrict the speech of Americans and restrict their desire to say something in internet. But they are completely incapable to do that with foreighers, who absolutely don't give a fuck about all that US three-letter agencies, as I personally easily do. So, US three-letter agencies de-facto effectively cut US citizens rights while others are completely free to enjoy them, while they have to do exactly opposite - protect US citizens rights and control foreigners.
IDK if that could be somehow tried in court or questioned in representative branches of government, but I think it could worth the try to rise the discussion in that angle.
It doesn't matter at all because by the time they're going after people for naughty internet posts best believe they'll be going after people for totally fabricated internet posts, it'll be no different from how they type up a manifesto overnight for their latest heavily groomed schizo. There is no reason to fear the "rules" being created by people who have zero regard for "rules" anyway. They will eventually come for anyone and everyone who doesn't overtly submit whether there are naughty internet posts or not. Truly no reason to give a fuck.
