The city exodus began when NYC collapsed a couple years ago. Where I live, acre plots have going up with expensive homes. This was a very rural area.
As far as running out the day of shtf, good luck. The cities will eat themselves quickly, the rural is armed. Like every person armed. So, be careful once you get out.
