Flat earth is not possible. If the sun is millions of miles away then it would always be daylight everywhere on earth. If the sun is close the geometry of the sunrise doesn't make sense. The sunrise today in New Zealand was from the southeast. The sunrise on the first day of spring is due east for cities both north and south of the equator.

Plot twist: the earth is a cube and the moon is an aliens ass, hence the term "mooning".
