Seriously, guys, is -15°C and a little snow in winter really something so disastrous in US? Something that not just a theme for a short talk at work like "Today is cold - Yes, I frogot to pour winter windshield liquid and it freezed", but something that definitely had to be a massive geoengineering?
I probably would feel more sympathy if I wasn't enjoying warm weather and sunny skies right now. Sorry, I didn't mean to antagonize you with my comment.
I am beginning to think you are controlled opposition with your constant 'coincidence theories'.
I just question everything. :) I don't know what is real US approach in cold weather countermeasures and very sceptical about "worst .... in decade". Some data shows that freezing weather is not something exceptional in most of US, so people had to somehow be prepared to cold weather. Just want to have all possible info to make some conclusion.
In NC growing zone 7 it's supposed to get at the most -10F, and that is late into winter. It was -30F for a while
-10°F is well below water freezing point. And it does not matter when it supposed to get.
It took out my pump and I have it well fortified for winter. We already had several freezes and this overwhelmed my countermeasures.
What is your countermeasures? To withstand -10°F you definitely need either heated (with that heating cable and insulation) pipes and pump, either have them relatively deep in ground. In both ways if you prepared for -10°F you could have problems only if -30°F will stay for weeks.
As for snowfall, it also barely matter does it fall at 30°F or -30°F. The spade or machinery does not differ.
You're not stupid. So why do you act like HELLA NORTHERN GEOLOGICAL LOCATIONS with HELLA NORTHERN GEOLOGICAL LOCATION budgets are somehow the same? Last time you commented on this (that I saw) you made an effort to say perhaps its due to corruption and the money spent doesn't equate to the money actually used to secure these things. Pretend russia extends towards the southern fucking hemisphere by nearly 50%. That's out the ass not good at geography number btw. Now think about it. Do you think South East Asia or Northern Africa has the knowledge or ability to handle cold snaps that some smart ass dipshit from RUSSIA knows or has the ability to implement???
Remember folks, you can be a smart motherfucker, and still miss the basic obvious shit. I like your comments CR. This is not one of those comments. The southern part of the US is ready for heat waves, NOT cold snaps. It's one of the reasons why our unity is so impressive. It's a fucking massive area of land with a bunch of folks that speak the same language. My EU pro teams used to brag about their multi-lingual nature. I'd just laugh knowing human nature is much more than language.

Really the question is "are there temperatures below water freezing point happens from time to time?". For US I see that that weather below water freezing point with snow is not rare thing at all, except small regions in Florida of California
Most problems with infrastructure in cold weather connected with water freezing here and there. If water freezes in pipes, f.e., than pipes could broke, if water freezes on road, there could be many road accidents and so on. However, if cold weather happens in region, then, usually, infrastructure is prepared for that. Pipes are dug lower that depth of freezing in ground, road services have snow cleaning machines and chemicals to melt the ice on roads. So, even extreme cold for few days would not do much harm and should not be a disaster.
If you think that in Russia everywhere winter does non cause problems, than you thinking about Russia too positive. :) It is not a rare thing, f.e. when snow cleaner trucks are not ready at first snowfall, because some mayor stole tax money for spare parts or fuel. And so on. There are problems in Russia connected with winter, but we don't have theories about weather weapons here. It's too obvious, that it is just those who in charge of being ready for winter are failed to be ready and highly probably they are corrupted and stole tax money that was allocated for winter weather.
I perfectly understand, that, say, Miami (or Sochi in Russia, f.e.) hardly have a fleet of snow cleaner trucks, or snow melting chemicals in stock.
But when I hear about awful troubles in NYC or Washington DC, and you talking about weather weapons, I like "WTF? There are no fleet of snow cleaner trucks in city? How? Why is this a disaster for them?".

Just quick lurking:

And so on.
Nothing unusual. Or all that was geoengineering too? How could that be?
I agree with Mr. Russian. Weather has always been subject to extremes, long before technology came about. I don't see a conspiracy here.

Ghost, it definitely felt engineered.
It was too sudden and too intense.
They've had the technology for quite some time.
I also believe they engineered some of the chaos around Haiti, probably so they could steal kids.
INo doubt in my mind that they fuck with weather... But a blizzard... 70-90 km winds and 15-30 cm of snow is not the end of the world.

They’d finally have the warm water port they want so much.
