Haven't heard of that, as far as I know winnings from lotteries are tax free but of course when you put it in your bank account and earn interest then that interest is taxable income.

A few years ago they changed the amount of numbered balls to make it less likely to win. The odds are incredibly small now so this doesn’t seem unlikely to me. If they sold 300 million tickets which would be abnormally high, that’s still only one winning ticket based on the odds.

The delay was weird but I don’t know enough about that to say
