Both can be different viewpoints of the same element. No, I have not watched the video yet. I just know that many things can be explained through an overlapping of key aspects.
Just because the pump ejects liquid in a spiral/vortex doesn't mean it isn't a pump!
However, it certainly is an interesting argument that the pressure required to push the volume of blood and blood cells throughout the circulatory system is far too great for the heart. I was also intrigued by the argument about the main outflow artery contracting (as if under vacuum) when the largest volume of flow is traveling within it.
Cowan's video was interesting. Thanks for sharing!
A whirling mass of water or air that sucks everything near it toward its center.
That explains nothing about the driving force. I think Cowan is a narcissistic quack who likes attention. The heart is driven by muscular contractions.
yeah i had the same thought that there is a definite pump action occurring, and some new information that the tissue could be producing a swirling motion.
the displacement pump action is undeniable tho.
valves and chambers are opening/closing in sequence, so there is no question that volume is being moved.
A few more videos, if you are interested:

Good point
Votex is to out flow what laminar is to inflows
I remember learning recently that it doesn't push the blood, it pulls the blood.
Could be! We are still learning so much about the human body!

Holy shit this is retarded. We can literally observe and measure the heart's pumping action.
