Children of Satan, the tares among wheat, they are - human form but beings of pure selfish will, unable to perceive with empathy and incapable of compassion. In the modern idiom, they are called narcissists, sociopaths, and psychopaths- terms that describe symptoms but fail to grasp the root: they are evil. They are brilliant, because they are unencumbered and distracted by the processes of the humane. They are master manipulators, trained from birth to emulate us. If we knew what was going on in their heads, we would consider them monsters. There is no fixing them, just like you can’t teach a chimpanzee calculus. And they don’t want what we have. They think we are weak, pathetic, playthings. Spend enough time around them, and you’ll become a shell of a human, selfish and broken with phobias and disorders. Get them out of your lives. Change jobs, move, anything to keep them from direct power or influence over your life. They killed Jesus when given authority over him for 24 hours.
If labor is essential free because of automation, would you rather have independent thinkers or NPCs that just echo what they hear? Creative thinkers that can solve problems are rare & valuable.

It's a spectrum, not a yes/no. Everyone is an "NPC" sometimes.
