The thing with "ze bugz", they force, is that they are not edible. Humanity survived multiple starvations, and nowhere nobody could make worms and bugs edible even facing death from starvation. You can't make worms and bugs edible at home. You need a complex factory process to separate edible proteins from poisons and harmful stuff in worms and bugs.
And, obviously, only corporations could build a factory for worms and bugs processing. You are not able to grow that perfectly breeding worms for your own food. That is the catch.
So, corporations force "eat ze bugz", prohibit everything you could grow by yourself, and then sell the cheapest possible for them proteins for all your money.

I think it is also a kind of suppression. There is no any technical problem to make any look and taste at least similar to something well-known. I met soy meatballs that looked like real ones, with chicken-like taste. They was more expensive than real chicken ones, but that's another story. :)
Meanwhile, I always wondered, what is the target audience for soy products disguise as meat. Normal people will definitely just prefer real meat. So, it should be vegans. But the point of veganism is refusal of meat. So why the person who consciously refused meat will want a food that will look and taste like meat, instead of eating same soy beans or whatever soy product as it is, without masquerading meat? What is the poiint? If you still want to eat meat, it is kind of hypocrisy to declare yourself a vegan. There is also another possible target audience - f.e. Orthodox Russians have a tradition to hold a fast before great holidays - Easter, Christmas and so on, when you don't have to eat meat unless you hard working or travelling. Some kind of will training, and whatever excersise. May be they are an audience of soy "meat"? But the sole idea of fasting is to consciously limit yourself from eating that tasty meat. It will have no any sense in fasting if you will eat food that resemble meat, but formally it is not a meat. Hypocrisy again. This has happened to the farming industry. The crops that the farmers are being forced to grow are genetically modified, some say it is to produce a greater yield, for healthier crops, for being inedible to the common pests and bugs. In the end, the farmers must go back to the market and purchase more seeds, whereas back in the day they would use some of their own yield as the next years seedlings.
This is controlled production. Suddenly everyone wants heirloom seeds, naturally selected through countless years of selective growth and NOT scientifically altered. Farmers do not have the choices they once had, now they are captive to the suppliers for their next crop.
OP is pointing out that the same control mechanisms used in traditional farming by TPTB in order to control the worlds food production is being used here also with the whole eat za bugz initiative. The populace will be at the mercy of the producers to create the edible Soylent green because it cannot be derived by traditional methods. It's all about control.

Your not wrong about the heirloom seeds. I remember reading some bullshit the other day blaming the store seeds as being poor quality or something, but its because they genetically modified these crops to not produce viable offspring.

But have you ever grown weed before? The weed back then was full of seeds because everyone grew it outside in the wild, where if you dont pull one male plant, it would pollinate an entire field of females.
Nowadays most major grow ops are inside so they can go all year. On top of that, not many people do seeds anymore. Its all about the clones.
The only time they use seeds is for when trying to breed strains together. They will take a male plant and shake it on a female to get a few seeds.

Without all that E additions and soy protein. Of course, there was crap food in Soviet Russia and there was no much choice, but basic things was definitely better than modern crap you find today in any country.
