I doubt this is true. You are claiming that police get commission for each day people are in jail.
I believe what you meant is that local municipalities or even states may get reimbursements for inmates, or for holding federal prisoners, etc. That would be true.
Police individually getting commissions, however, seems to be false.

Police get paid for every day the people they put in ha stay in jail. This effects their paychecks.
