First thing you have to openly state for anyone who whinning about "your emails didn't come/go to spam" - "It's completely your fault. Don't use that Google/Yahoo/whatever shit and everything will be OK. If a conversation with me is important for you - get rid of shitty services or fuck with them as you like".
The secret is simple. If you have your own mail server, with very high probability, you are much more important to your email peers than all of them are important to you. So, it's you who could easily force your rules, not them. Let your peers fuck with BigBrother spam false flags, restrictions and other shit. Let them fuck with BigBrothers tech support and other crap. Let them write around about how BigBrother don't let them communicate with very important for them peer.
I'm running my own maiserver for decades. I never had a single thought about dropping it. It's not my problem if somebody choose to use BigBrother shit, so, I absolutely don't care if they "can't find my letter". Those who sold to BigBrother should suffer. And they do. And that's nice.
You must have extremely limited exposure to emailing with other people.
Sometimes dozens of emails a day. I also run few email servers for others, and there are no any problems.
Why even a tiny proposal about dropping that @gmail.com, whatsapp, facebook or other corporate shit drop people to the mental coma? Is it so hard to understand that all that crap have no any advantages over independent services at all, only bullshit marketing and useless bells and whistles?
I never had any BigBrother accounts anywhere and have no any problems with communications with people around the world.
Sometimes I even deny to communicate with a peer if he has BigBrother email address, if it is about sending passwords, private keys or confidential business papers, otherwise all that critical stuff will be 100% parsed, identified and stored on BigBrother servers and could be used any time against you.
Even that forum - why the fuck anybody will choose some reddit to talk about conspiracies? Or any other thing - you don't need any of BigBrother services at all. And nobody need, really. It's them who need you, not vice versa. And even if you bought their bullshit, it is never late to opt out. If you are a not a mother basement nothingburger, then there will be no any problems not only to send BigBrother to the voyage to fuck out destination, but even also force some of your less intelligent peers who need you more than you need them to do the same thing.
Did you read the article? Because the author states they get blacklisted after over a decade of personal emails only.
So, it is not his problem at all. It is a problem of those who use BigBrother services, who blacklisted his server, and who wanting something from the author. I'm 100% shure, that his peers who didin't use BigBrothers crap never had and never will have any problems with mail exchange.
I also getting some feedback like he does. My answer is very simple - My server is up and running and works according to all applicable RFCs. If your mail service don't want to get mail from my server or do something weird with it, it is your porblem with your email service, not mine. Get rid of that shitty Gmail and everything will be OK. If you still want to be a slave of BigBrother and suffer - I don't give a fuck.
That guy who wrote article just hended his ass to BigBrother for nothing. It is such guys who created that situation from the very beginning and allowed BigBrother to press them. Spineless losers.
Again, I'll insist that the mail from the person with his own mail server is much more important for the "user" of some [email protected] crap, than vice versa. So, if every private server owner would had don't give a fuck to the whinning of stupid *@gmail.com users from the beginning, than I'm in doubt that this BigBrother crap still be in existence.
If you have a @gmail.com, @yahoo.com, @yandex.com, whatever and have problems with receiving mail from me - go fuck the brains of your email service, switch to another mail service, rise up your own or go fuck yourself. You need my mail, not vice versa.
Really it is completely wrong and loser approach.

I agree it's not your issue. But, the author is frustrated by it.
