The metabolic switch typically occurs between 12 to 36 hours after cessation of food consumption depending on the liver glycogen content at the beginning of the fast, and on the amount of the individual’s energy expenditure/exercise during the fast.>
That agrees with me. Try reading my comment over again.
I've seen data showing ketosis shoots up and stays elevated by 24 hours in most people, so for someone fat adapted it could be as low as 12, which is what your paper is indicating. So from the 24-48 hour period that is over 24 hours of strong ketosis. If you break fast with a keto meal you will still be in ketosis.
No need for a 3 day or more fast for that.
You cited a second paper, that's nice but were you trying to make a point with it?
Database? You mean that one study? Turns out it is not a water fast, it is a juice / vegetable fast so we are talking about different things.
According to the Buchinger method, fasters should avoid all solid foods, ingesting only vegetable broth, tea, juices and water.
I have no doubt it is easier to make it longer when you consume juices and vegetable stews (your study sad (200-250kcal per day), that will prevent electrolyte deficiencies.
They also mention adverse events, but I can't look into those since it is only the abstract. It is also a study by the Buchinger people so should be held to more scrutiny.
Conflict of interest statement
FWT is member of the Directory Board of the Buchinger Wilhelmi Clinic (BWC), where the study was performed.
Long story short, you didn't prove the concerns about water fast safety for beginners wrong.

Can be dangerous yes I still believe so. Never said universally dangerous, learn some reading comprehension.
Thanks for re-explaining glucose depletion which was never in question. Now buzz off.

The entire subject was ketosis, you are moving the goalposts and just want to argue. See ya cunt.
