Somebody posted on GLP about waking up at 4 AM and was asking others, and a lot of people replied that they did also. I did also and have been many times recently. What about you guys? In the past, waking up before 8 AM was a rare thing, maybe once in a quarter or something.
I think this is being caused by minor space weather. There have been M class flares almost every day for weeks. Normally I see about one of those every week or two on the suspicious observers app. I've had the app for years.
5 EST for me.
CME has been linked to migraines! When I used to get bad migraines, I could tell you when the sun was doing something. Now I have migraines under control. But, if you test it ask a person with migraines before you tell them. That's how I found out.
Don't forget everyone doesn't have the same migraine triggers. For example I feel lucky as hell that chocolate isn't a trigger for me.

Interesting. I did not know the connection to migraines.
It was attempted to, " debunk" by saying the sample size was too small. The problem was that neurologists have enough patients to do their own informal studies.
Mine got curious, and the results were most of the patients in that office had migraines on days that there were solar activity.
if you drink tons of coffee, and don't replenish, you will have headaches due to being dehydrated
I don't like coffee.
Excellent. It's poison.
Preface and context:
I've always had problems sleeping. I used to only get 1-5 hours of sleep every night for years. I can usually fall asleep alright, but I always wake up in the middle of the night and can never get back to sleep. My brain just keeps running and thinking about various things, mostly philosophical stuff that's bothered me since I was a teen. It's helped me learn and figure out a lot (which I'm writing down into two books), but not so great for health.
Fortunately, I've found some things which have helped. The first one was supplementing vitamin D. It was a life changer. In addition to all the other health benefits, it's helped me fall asleep faster, stay asleep, and get better sleep. The next thing was having a relatively large dinner close to bed time. I know this isn't the best thing to do, but the caloric intake makes you sleepy, which I've noticed helps me fall and stay asleep. Next thing was supplementing magnesium, which helps relax muscles and the mind, and foster sleep. I then added higher dose melatonin (10mg) with dinner (which also causes me to have really vivid dreams). I also have dinner while watching a little bit of TV right before bed, which helps to shut my brain off. I fall asleep like a rock and almost never wake up in the middle of the night like I used to. Regular exercise throughout the week also helps a lot with sleep.
The melatonin was the last thing I've added to my regimen, and I've been taking it for about 2 months, and been getting the best sleep of my life. I'm not a morning person, but now I actually wake up before the full 8 hours and feel energetic and refreshed without any caffeine. It's been great.

However, last night out of nowhere, I woke up at 4am (central) and couldn't go back to sleep for several hours. That hasn't happened to me in a long time.
What magnesium do you take?

This is what I use. I take 2 tablets with dinner.
Over the past year there were several periods in which I would wake up at 2AM, 3AM 4AM and be overcome with intense worry. Its the witching hour
I have slept like shit the last several days. Space weather or full moon or both.
5-6 am for months at this point, just naturally waking up way before the sunrise
?
People have always woken up at 3-4am, particularly after 30.
It used to be custom that people got out of bed and had tea.
You're just getting old.
I sleep at 4am, haven't noticed.
4 AM for you, and which time zone are you in. I'm ET.
Yeah, it is also possible that something is going on that is not related to the sun or natural phenomena. For example, imagine a scenario where phones/cell towers were sending out some kind of high frequency noise to fuck with everybody and ramp up chaos. I mean I just invented that notion right now, but some kind of non-natural scenario could be taking in local time rather than globally at the same time.
yeah, no later than 4.30 every day
Interesting theory about flares. Fact is waking in the middle of the night is natural. It's from the vast majority of humanities evolutionary path we didn't have artificial light.
What's unnatural is staring at screens until you pass out from exhaustion. Most every case of insomnia is bullshit. If you got other problems then go to the doctor cuz small chance it something could be going on. Waking up is nothing to be concerned about
