The document and questions were intentionally designed as a simulation of McCarthyism and to make students question the appropriateness of the information being requested. In fact, within a minute, the teacher explained the purpose of the exercise was not to collect this information, but to demonstrate how private citizens’ rights and privacy were invaded during McCarthyism in the 1950s. The document which contained the questions was collected and destroyed.
In the future, if you should see something that doesn’t seem right to you, please reach out directly to your child’s teacher or South administration before sharing it on social media, where unfortunately it only causes misunderstanding and disruption to our teaching and learning environment.
Hmmm, while I think this was, on it's face, supposed to be an exercise about McCarthyism, it's really about teachers job security for their backgrounds.

hmmm...
'McCarthyism'? This is positioning kid's minds that combatting Communism is bad. It's subtle agitprop.
Considering how hard it is to determine if this is real or not, I'd assume it's an attempt to see what they can get away with.
If a kid, or parent, complains; hey, that was a test, and you passed.
If not, you do the next class.

Does your dad own a gun? What is his license plate number?
How does your mom feel about abortions?
Have you ever felt a little like a member of the opposite sex?
Have you ever been excited thinking about touching a member of your own sex?
Does anyone in your family worship Donald Trump, serial killers, or been in the KKK?
Do you ever want to come to school and shoot everyone up? Are you on any serotinin medication?
Target families that have wrong think.
Why do they need to know almost ANY of those things?
1,2,3, and maybe 9 are understandable. The rest are none of their damned business.
This is why my kids weren't allowed to sign anything, or fill out any forms because they weren't 18..
the entire thing sounds like they are being way too nosey
