Oil companies lost money during the pandemic. Now that Covid is gone, they are using the Russian invasion to make back their money and then some.
Or the fact that domestic supply has dried up because (1) Biden has denied every single oil lease since taking office (2) they've pulled oil leases for drilling on federal lands and (3) shutdown of keystone means oil companies stopped investing in new drilling which is starting to hit home.
But yes, the "it is due to Russia!!!" is complete shilling no matter what. Russian oil accounts for about 2% of all of our crude oil... and even then I think most of that goes to plastics and chemicals and not gasoline.
Just ignore that whole Democrats shut down the industry. Why use logic when you can bitch about Russia like the tv told you to.
