Freeplay is great practice. Although it's often all in or out. They don't care much, it's free. Some sites are much better and with friends better as freeplay. But I genuinely hate what it is teaching. I absolutely rue the day it was born, hating what it has become. Wishing there was a God to strike it all down. It was okay when it was just those arcade slot machines. But these other bullshit casinos are some of the worst things to ever blight humanity. Pure greed and manipulation. Like so much of the Internet today. The algorithms just aren't the same deal, they are corrupted into programming of it pays somebody else more. Those percentages are screwed. Yes that deal can also be corrupted live. Although it is not what that algorithm is. Luck often finds a way. But a website will simply shill you.
I haven't been for a while, live. Busy. Stuff. Pandemic. But try it. It takes more skill and patience. You will find it is far better. But not everybody is good at it. They prefer less noise. People are greedy. That attitude sometimes is easier avoided. But it's often better winning.
I don't, and here's why. Good players will still appreciate the nuances of a game, regardless of outcome.
I'm not stuck on the outcome.
I have final tabled two of the last three tournaments I played in though. Won one of them as well. Even if the algorithms are wonky, I still have my fun.
I won on tourneys as well online. It's not the point on how it is designed.
What didn't you understand about that? It doesn't simulate luck, it manipulates it. It provides an algorithm manipulating percentages away from poker odds. Why is every card in play when they are. You have AK, they have AQ, another A8, flop has an A. Often impossibly from the way a deal is. Why are the same kickers handed to you endlessly. In live you would punch the croupier in the face if you had a 2 in your hand 10 times, the same 2 for 3 of those hands. You would call for a huge investigation if quads won the table 4 hands in 5. But there we are on Pokerstars or Whatever accepting it? It doesn't matter what mode you play. It's teaching players wrong. Sure it's good practice with friends better. But it doesn't simulate reality. It manipulates it absurdly.
Worse on low stakes. It literally wants you paying for the time of using it. Not the standard acceptible table rake. But by offering far more action hands every single deal. Pocket pairs always running against another pocket pairs or etc. But the dominated pair wins. Because the donk, will suck out. The other player will rebuy. The monkey modes of 10 seconds to play, in hyper turbos. Etc etc. Live somebody cannot sit on 10 tables. So why are shills. Or "pros". Or idiots.
I know...that's why I only play for fun.
I'm the same way in pool though. Don't like playing straight up for money, but love playing in tournaments.

Wake up.
You wake up...you've lost the script already.
I never play 10 person...why would you do that?
And I play for fun...you are rather sour about things. I don't play rebuys or addon tournaments, and I don't even play texas hold em.
I stick to 8-game and stud hi/lo.
But I'm not concerned with "teaching" players...players in general were just as bad, or worse, before online poker. Fine by me.
