Note that there was nothing in the video about safety.

In this video Dr. Whitney Casares (a Stanford trained, Portland Oregon Pediatrician) makes the following points as to why the quickly developed covid-19 vaccines are safe.

1. In the past it took years to get buy-in and funding for vaccine development
2. In this case [with covid-19] we saw the disease up close and personal - we knew we had to do something to combat it to keep children and adults safe
3. Back when we had Polio we didn't have the coordination and technology that we have now to make a quickly developed vaccine happen

The only point that really applies is point #2, and it doesn't really address why the vaccine is safe, just how we developed it so quickly. So I ask, what was the point of this video?

I'll make two of my own points:

• It's generally understood that healthy children aren't at risk to Covid-19 in any significant way.
• Covid-19 vaccines used in the US are still considered experimental and available under emergency use authorization. Pfizer/BioNtech's Comirnaty, while FDA approved, is not yet available in the US. (You could make the argument it's only a formality as Comirnaty is understood to be the same as the Pfizer EUA vaccine. It's still interesting that Comirnaty in its FDA approved form is not available yet.)

Could this video be some kind of joke or trolling? :) If I would have to think out something that must be extremely illogical and unbound, I will not think out anything close even if I'll try very hard.
