HIPAA only covers what medical info companies keep on you. They can ask and you can decline, but they can also refuse to hire you. HIPAA is to keep companies from selling your data without permisson and to keep people from calling medical offices and getting your data. It also holds any companies keeping medical data liable if your data is leaked. Unfortunately, it doesn't say that companies of any kind can't ask or require your data; it only covers what happens to it after you provide it.

But I bet it was what he was thinking of, and a lot of people believe HIPAA will protect them. The name is knda misleading and makes it sound as if it is for the benefit of the citizen or something silly like that.
Right? If only it were there to protect us. I know my insurance company sells my medical data so I'm assuming it only protects us so far. I probably had to sign something that said they could sell it on order to be eligible for the plan.

Not forced as you say seeing as how she could just choose not to and find a job that doesn't require it. She got the vax willingly in order to get a job. Sucks that businesses are able to do this, but she only has herself to blame. If you are in the medical field and do not want the vax I would suggest finding a new profession.
If and when my profession or employer require the vax I am out. But if I give in and get the vax (wont happen) I have only myself to blame for potential negative effects.
