Another OS guru decides to armchair his authoritative feelings about a field he has no experience in. But it must be similar because it's technology, and technology gud.

What's next? The Hare Krishnas endorsing incest porn?

I'm starting to think most of the big names in tech have severe cases of Aspergers or something.

This is exactly what Thomas Sowell describes as the behavior of an "Anointed One" in his book "Intellectuals and Society." They usually don't experience any consequence to being wrong, either.

And the mentality of "That dude is so smart because he's so sure of himself and he cusses like a drunken sailor" is all too prevalent.

Just read thru his wiki, that's a lot of good work he's done.

I like the section Late-talking and the Einstein syndrome. Some people are late bloomers because they're growing deeper roots.

Also read his last column here:

Asperger or something alone is not source of evil and problems. Being surrounded by leftists and other such crooks and being weak - that's the source of such evil and problems.

Not only people with Asperger lust for being accepted by other people. But life teaches that acceptation of wrong people could have terrible price...

Linus is weak man whose daughter become leftist, man who allowed leftists to invade his project (linux kernel). He is simply avoiding confrontation in fear and the rest of his "scientific" behaviour is rationalizing cognitive dissonance or being already brainwashed or corrupted by people surrounding him. He probably believes he has so many to lose - and it is why he is losing & loser...

I have nothing against Aspy, there are times when everyone might resemble those traits, and I don't even like bringing it up usually because that doesn't do justice to life's good side. Freud was a fucked up dude. Look, lots of people are weird, but we shouldn't escalate those oddities as their defining traits, or slots which we can categorize them into, because we are not experiencing those people correctly when we do that.

But I don't discount the research behind it either, so I wonder about it. Someone like Bill Gates who irked his employees when he was tracking them all on a computer screen at early Microsoft. There are certain boundaries that some people have no problem crossing, and this might be a quality that gets them ahead in certain avenues like big business. Another way to maybe define it is "soulless" outlook on life.

Then you are not writting about persons being more or less autistic. You are writing about psychopaths or sociopaths probably if I understood it correctly... And while some autistic people are prone for such behaviour - that NOT means every such person is evil psycho !

And well... I don't think Linus is psychopath. I suspect he has "normal" social disabilities being linked with mild autism, but after being surrounded by wrong people and not understanding people, society and so on... Even neurotypical person if is surrounded by leftists gets serious social life problems and is prone to indoctrination and manipulation...

Bill Gates and Steve Jobs however, Epstein and Maxwell however - definitely they are/were examples of psychopaths.

It's so bizarre because in the very same comment he said that if people disagree, they should take it elsewhere because this is the Linux kernel mailing list lol. If you don't want politics in your kernel threads, then why did you bring it up?

I really wonder if there is someone going around trying to buy out all the "influencers" and part of the contract is to keep quiet. I can imagine wanting the jab if I was a fat person with high risk and was really really afraid, but I cannot imagine trying to preach about this. It makes no sense.

I don't think it's even that. From what I understand, his daughter is an SJW. Most likely he is being influenced by people in his own family and he is simply too beta to do otherwise.

I hate how they've corrupted the Free Software/Open Source movement. People, evidently, can be corrupted. Fortunately the message is not the people.

Unfortunately the leaders of the ideological side (RMS and ESR) were ousted because of their careless defense of Epstein. And the leaders of the practical side (like Linus) were corrupted and brainwashed by SJWs.

However, the entire ideological point behind these movements is that we shouldn't have software vendors deciding how we should live and what we can use our devices for. Proprietary technology is a problem. Vendor lock-in is a problem. The threat of "Fear Uncertainty and Doubt" tactics are also still a problem. Even though the spearheads are gone, the ideal of making our software to defend the freedoms of its users is NOT in vain.

We must not let the corrupt oligarchs win through such chicanery. Even if those who first voiced these goals fell to their own folly, we mus still fight for the freedom to decide what we want to do with our own devices free from the vagaries of the people who write the software.
