Normies will never understand this. Everyone should know this by now. Just look at how leftists depended on cherrypicked definitions and how they are now making their own and relying on those to develop their arguments. The easiest one to see is how they have no idea what a right is and how they insist that destroying the economy and transferring our money to the rich because they own Big Pharma is a right. The globalists have always known to manipulate language to manipulate people.
This has to be the least thought-out thread I've read in a while. Is there a problem with what they are doing? Yes. Is it as lacking of nuance and plain-as-day as you think? No.
The problem is that the technically smart atheists tend to end up on the left with their "science" where they break things down to their smallest points and then tend to extrapolate while all the dumb God-loving (not to imply that loving God makes you dumb) people end up on the right making the kind of brainless analysis that devolves into the preceding two comments.
Words are so powerful. Each word holds different meaning to everyone. For example, when I talk about God, what I mean and what others hear are usually different. Most people think of the Christian God when I say it, but i don't mean it in a certain religious way, it can mean whatever all powerful being you believe in. The All, the universe, whatever.
The term kali yuga refers to this timr period when we have become lost in our spirituality and it started when writing was invented. The words have confused the truth.
much better ? Yes.But also no,because of associated meanings. And sometimes language have no proper associated meaning.
In case of communist China - to DESTROY most important parts of previous Chinese culture during "cultural revolution" Mao barbarians "reformed" Chinese language. Deepest understanding of ancient writings, especially mystic ones were lost for majority of Chinese as the result.
Returning to biblical "word" - greek Logos has deeper meaning:
We lack even understanding of the language depth,we used to using it improperly and recklessly. And we don't see language lacks. It is system, icon, reflection not real and complete ideas. Our words are shades of Plato's cave more than real things...
It is said Hopi indians have 2 words for water and see "timespace" other way than we trough language. Eskimo have many words for snow. So is language so bad ? Is that languages fault ?
Fault of language is the truth cant be shared fully by words ? No. Fault of us believing few words could give us all the truth. Fault of our recklessness and thoughtlessness...
Maybe there was more reason than beautiful letters why in the past people were learning calligraphy ?
When you read a book and come across a new word, you either use the context of the surrounding words to create meaning of that word or look it up in the dictionary. When you use the context of the surrounding words, you create your own definition, you associate the word with the thoughts in your head surrounding the subject if which you are reading.
When you look it up in the dictionary, you are taking someone else's meaning of the word and applying it to the thoughts in your head surrounding the subject.
Either way, does that truly match the authors meaning of the word?
I like your post and thank you for taking the time to write it. I agree that words are the expression of our thoughts and that words are beautiful. What I meant by kali yuga is that instead of expressing the divine through practice, ritual, and understanding, we have turned to words which no longer hold the same meaning. Knowledge of the words without understanding what the words truly represent.
It's like reading about something or actually experiencing it. You can read about being a soldier in a war, but actually being in a war is a completely different experience that no words can describe. When someone who has been to war describes their experiences, their words hold a completely different meaning to them than the person they are telling would ever understand until they experience it for themselves.
Either way, does that truly match the authors meaning of the word?
Yes and not. Depends.Especially depends of precision author tries to explain his/her view.
Ritual like words might leed other way than predicted/believed. Practice could be repeated wrong way or misunderstood. Understanding is limited by abilities of those who learn.
Again key meme: Plato's cave. Look at Plato's cave idea (you not need in original),it represent truth about ideas perception. Are ideas primary or not - it is not matter in my view.
Plato's cave & ideas. Word,Ritual,Practice = reflections on wall. Understanding = seeing those reflections.
I've been really thinking about language recently so your thoughts are really helping me form my ideas, so thank you for your input.
Great example with Plato's cave. Your right, the authors meaning does rely on their precision. My point is do the words themselves help us see the reflections on the wall, or do experiences? I guess I am taking this at a more spiritual view point, which is really difficult to convey in words anyways without the experiences.
One word that comes to mind is communism, and I'm sort of thinking out loud here. You ask anyone to define communism and you'll get a thousand different definitions. For some, they are enticed by the idea that communism will bring equality to all (I know that's bullshit, but that's what people have told me), while others remember the millions of people that were killed in China and Russia and the failed communist societies of the past. You can read the same book, but everyone is going to have a different conclusion based on the experiences they have personally had.
My point is do the words themselves help us see the reflections on the wall, or do experiences?
Yes and no. Words are structural patterns for (limited to words capabilities) sharing of experiences. Shallow definition but

Individual minds and personality is whole structure. Words and contacting with other people - through language or experience is trying to share some part of structures you have. Whole structure "written in" mind cannot be shared as a whole, only shared as part.
Sharing experience and knowledge (by words or other means) is something like writing word/sentence in already written sentence/book. With working intelligent auto-correct protecting integrity of sentence/book (mind and personality cohesion - and even despite of that we are more or less crazy/unstable,more or less inconsistent as individuals !).
Pros:
We are different individuals not some one hive overmind. All of us matter, all of us are different - and it is evolutional advantage. (<-Compare evolutional level of species having 2 sexes to replicating "self-clonning" bacterias). And this is tip of icehole of advantages.
Cons:
We have different experiences and we are deemed to not fully understand each other as we are different. Unity is impossible.Full understanding - very hard if possible. Had I wrote icehole ? Well as well it could sometimes sunk us...

Read 1984. It is in big part about it. Double-speach.

First - those shit about kali yuga is bullshit. Language is thought.Thought is sacred.
But do we really treated ever our languages as such ? Treated thought as that important ?
Second:
"The words have confused the truth".
No. The problem with using words is another. Language is systematic thinking, but thought cannot be fully shared within any system.
By the way - Ancient civilizations - China,Egipt and Mayan as well used pictograms.
So for example take Chinese "aircraft": 飛機 飛 - fly - but also: https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/%E9%A3%9B 機 - machine - but also: https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/%E6%A9%9F

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Logos_(Christianity) Greek Λόγος, means ''Word", "Discourse", or "Reason'. And in Bible also God/Christ.
