They probably are always monitoring things in automated and personalized fashion much more than the average person thinks. The same way most TOR exit nodes are Mossad/CIA. They already have profiles. I don't think they need those E-mails.
If anything I'd say the E-mails have been provided by them! Does anyone seriously think the Washington Post is free press? LOL We will do their work by spreading them. Have to dig in more. But it seems those E-mails enforce that there is a virus! Which is false. So to me at least I am certain it's a controlled leak.
Don't overestimate the price of owning a site. It is really cheap today, even for a big one with millions of users. All that bullshit about "we overbloated our site with ads because we need money to support the site" is a complete bullshit. Nearly all money from ads goes directly to the pockets of sly owners.
Site like win costs a few thousand dollars a year, including payments for win domain zone. Or even less, if you own some company in the networking sphere. If you are unlucky, incompetent and don't know where and how get reasonable pricing for hosting/collocation, may be ten-twenty thousands. Even that is not a huge sum of money, definitely available to the independent and enthusiastic person from middle class. There are enough prosperous conspiracy theorists around, so, at least, it is completely possible.
IDK, who is win owner, but absence of ads is definitely not a sign of anything. In no case you really need an ads to keep your site up and running.
how do you know that? May be it stands for X Window System - standard GUI system for UNIX (and eventually Linux) systems, developed long before MS Windows?
Some company registered a heap of first level domains in attempt to make a profit from selling subdomains. .win is just one of few dozens and mean something connected with games.
Be curious, check everything, dig deeper. Making big fat fortune guesses have nothing common with conspiracy.
Thanks for the reply. Your information appears to be correct. My comment was not. It wasn’t a bad guess, I misread my source. The .Win is just meant to be marketed for gamers apparently. “.Win” is not for windows and they already have their own at “.Windows.”

Googly eye
I don't understand anything you just said in the title. Can you better repeat it so I can understand?
They already know us, we've been numbered somewhere, our TV and phones rated us out. All I can say now is, Come at me bro....
Interesting how there aren’t any advertisements here.
I wonder where funding for this site comes from....

Anyone else bothered by the fact that the “win” in “.Win” stands for Windows. The whole domain extension is for Windows/Bill Gates.

Really that have nothing with GUI. https://icannwiki.org/.win

Oh probably then. No way we're not monitored. The glowie meme is a thing for a purpose.
What if... the whole internet is a honey pot? What if your phones recorded you? What if alexa records you? What if ring records everything?
