I think this is more like 1932 when they first took power. A few years belter launching into their assaults. We’re in the book burning and character assassin stage

Für Ihre Sicherheit

Hilter did model his campaign to reclaim once-German European countries and Britain after Lincoln's intent to recapture the seceded states.

Did you know King George III was the first English monarch to even learn English?
His family, the Hanovers, were German. So German in fact that the Queen changed her name to Widsor during WWII

The British kingdom was taken over by all sorts of people.

No, it wasn't; The Kingdom of Great Britain only existed from 1707 to 1801(when it became the UK) and Kingdom of England itself only existed since the year 927.

The House of Hanover were of German descent who succeeded the House of Stuart as kings of Great Britain in 1714, 7 years after Great Britain gained sovereignty.

The Normans are the reason why modern English has some weird French stuff in it.

No, they aren't;

The Normans who invaded England from Normandy, France in 11th century were VIKINGS from ...Norway...who spoke ...Norwegian

English is a West Germanic language derived from Indo-European languages.
French is a Romance language derived from Vulgar Latin.

Not only did the Norwegians get pushed out of England in just 10 years (hardly enough time to change the language of people who never met them) they got bred-out of France by actual French people and now people in
Normandy speak French again. However being in close proximity, French people FROM FRANCE did trade with those living where ENgland is now and certain terms were adopted. "Normans" had nothing to do with it; they weren't French.

What Normans from Norway living in France (named Normandy for a reason) DID do is establish The Flag of England (red cross, white background)
based on the flag of Norway (black cross, red background) which is a
Scandinavian Cross design like Denmark's and Sweden's too, the other Scandinavian countries.

Forgot to mention that "Für Ihre Sicherheit" means "For your safety"

... a statement Nazi's used to justify many infringements on freedom,
a major one of which was gun confiscation - so that you had no choice but to join the Military or do whatever else they told you.

and when they finally came for me, there was no one left to speak-up for me

The 3rd Reich had an overwhelming sense of power and nationalism before the war. Not mass dehumanization, except for the Jews.

And Slavs unfortunately first. What was pure stupidity and reason of their failure.

Those frank idiots stole even being "Aryan" from us (If you steal myth of warior-ancestors for your propaganda first make sure you wouldn't hav fight with their REAL descendants), when majority of their "military traditions" were because of traditions of people being in blood deeply germanised slavs from Prussia and "Ostmarch" (Meissen and Lausitz - do you think Sorbian language is a joke ?)

Pissing Wendish slav nations or Russians being mix of Slavs and Finns (those second are not far from being descendents of Vikings too) is historically very stupid idea. No matter how you call us: Poles or Russians - even Czechs : We can bite.

Nope the third Reich felt invincible, they were also on drugs. Similar to what certain non western nations feel. Or what you get in your sport's team game. But they robbed that today with lockdown, instead they are biggest assholes on the entire Planet. You will never look at them the same again. Stopped kids playing so they could play to empty stadiums. As kids were arrested for playing. But assholes played and got paid. The wrong buzz. When you know they drink their national coolaide. Not many nations have that duty anymore, they have turned it into the enemy, because the West prides itself on being a bunch of unpatriotic whingers foreigners and deviants, turning any patriotism into the far right. However there is no comparison here. They didn't feel the end, only the beginning.

Your comparison is a foreboding sense this decade won't sit well. You are probably right on the money. It has only just begun.

Not necessarily. If they won history would sing a far different tale.

Do I agree. It isn't the argument on a comparison.

What they had was patriotism. They believed they were right. It didn't matter who they were. Because they were heroes. Duty service valor and honor. There was a cause greater than themself.

Of course that war was also profitable. People exploit and are exploited. The same corps played both sides profiting. Of course by fighting there was the greed of its ventures. Not the point on why the majority fought in it.

Would you not have fought then. Would you not have given it your life. If you didn't, did you simply submit profiting?

You play the game now. Except today it if for very different reasons. They are often greed instead of service.

Then it was different, society was vastly different. It was full of Patriots. The chain of command all served their nation with national service. Sure there was peasants and lordships as well. But to get a hallmark, patent, or medal meant service to your nation with deeds of merit, these were from service or innovation. Not purely consumption. Today fiction gets a medal, being foreign gets a medal, being a footballer gets a medal. Society today is far more corrupt on what it considers patriotic.

A product of consumption excess and vanity. As a result no real unity. Patriotism is frowned on, religion is dead. Instead we have divides increasing.

If you were a German, the Third Reich was a pretty awesome place to live before the war.

I can see that analogy. In some ways it's also the opposite, at least in the US. We have a ruling uniparty that actively wants to destroy the country to bring about one world government, whereas Hitler wanted a Germany so strong they would rule the world.

Hyper inflation, trade blocs, scapegoating a group of people. Oh yeah, its feeling like the 1930s.
