I've taught the kids REAL math on the side. It definitely made the boy a lot lazier at doing the work CC requires. He's doing this shit in his head and they want a fucking essay describing the steps.
It has led to problems. It has also shown my kid the hypocrisy of these people, as well as teaching me that I don't actually have any access to Lawyers, Justice or the Legal system. I'm a fucking peasant. Otherwise, I'd have a voice in what the fuck they teach my kids or legal recourse.
The system is broke in almost every respect at this point, but the people are insouciant as long as they have their job and netflix.

The scratch work came from the parent of the child. The only thing in the actual problem is the numbers under the line and the arches over it. The handwritten numbers were placed there by the dumbass parent.

Perhaps he should go back to college and take some classes in reading comprehension.
