9 to 5 use to also include lunch. Every Business I know does 9 to 6 now. Business to have an "8 hour day" and then they subtracted out lunch in early 90s to make it a 9 to 6 o'clock.
It's not modern society has conditioned people to believe this. It's modern business approaches and the demoralized feeling people have at their workplaces. They're treated like robots by higher ups and many times even by team leaders that they rarely even see. Workplaces have become dysfunctional and the feeling of workplace unity is hardly existing. Especially with how much racial justice and social justice has been increasingly diluting and ruining it for the past twenty something years. It's not the work that tires most people, who are reliable employees, out. It's the stress and lacking feeling of any purpose in workplaces. And their time to attend to traditional family is harder given that they're mentally worn out all of the time.
Furthermore, there's little pride in so many of these workplaces because these companies, especially the internationalist/corporatist varieties of business, make regular employees feel like they're going to be happily replaced by automation or outsourcing or a combination of the two any time now.
Live life as a child, entirely selfishly.
Spend 100% of your income on travel during your 20s and 30s.
Hit 40 and realize everyone who isn’t mentally ill has already settled down.
Blame society for your lack of savings, lack of professional progress and lack of healthy relationships.
Umm... Have you ever hunted with just a spear and maybe a bow and arrow? It could take several days before you have enough meat to last awhile. Particularly if you are hunting for others as well.
hunter gatherers do not just wake up one morning and discover they have to support themselves. They live in ancient societies where traditional knowledge is passed down of how where when and what to hunt. They range over very large areas according to the seasons.
they have been found to be able provide all of their needs on just four hours of "work" each day.
If someone wishes to limit themselves to the above, hey, go for it.
The American Dream, while it may be dying and on life support, consists of everything this man seems to take for granted. I mean - kids in Africa dream of what clean water tastes like.
Yes. The default plan for you is a life as domesticated cattle.
You never learned to think for yourself, or to question what life is, or what to do with life. You ask others to give you options. To do the thinking for you. Even in your existential desperation, you are good cattle.
I mean that, but it would be nice if we could do that while also being an active citizen of our nation. Actively contributing to and helping shape it's destiny, realising it's common goals with your compatriots, doing what you can to push you and your people into the annals of history.
You know? Imagine nationwide incentives to create art, manufacture goods and achieve scientific breakthroughs. Incentives to improve the mental and physical well being of all those belonging to your nation and community. Having a normal life with kids and work and a house isn't so bad when your life has meaning. But without our nations, our lives have little meaning.
Nations have become little more than a bureaucratic apparatus for the global elites to squeeze us of shekels. Stuff like national consciousness and feeling like you were a part of history, feeling like you were part of a wider family (your kin and nation) that could ACCOMPLISH tangible things, things that would be remembered for hundreds if not thousands of years. Things that would impact the world around you. Well yeah that's dead.
What does it mean to be Spanish? American? Irish? Canadian? Nothing. It simply denotes in what language your official documentation will be given to you, how your masters will process their information on you, their slave.
When you take away everything in your life, all your worldly possessions and such, you are left with 2 things. Your immediate family and your wider family (your people). The (((elites))) have destroyed national cohesion in the West, and have largely killed the feeling of kinship, camaraderie and compatriotism. People are literally embarrassed to wave a flag of their own country for fear of being branded a fascist. Can you imagine? You can't even wave a flag of your OWN COUNTRY without being demonised and assaulted. Like I literally know people who would never ever say they're proud to be where they're from, and would never wear anything with national symbols, because they are literally worried about being called a Nazi, a far right nationalist, a xenophobe, etc etc.
It's crazy. I'm going on a bit of a rant now. But yeah, random Twitter bitch, simple pleasures in life such as you have described, they do seem empty in this current climate. They seem empty because we know that we are but hamsters running on a wheel. No escape, no future, no meaning. Just going through the motions and using the tools that the globohomos have given us.

Domesticated by design.
Um no. A large majority of human history was as Hunter gatherers. You don't need to hunt that long to bring in enough meat to last awhile.

I agree with her sentiment. There's so much more to us and life than that :)
