In Tennessee, February is always the coldest month of the year. That is to say, if winter is going to be cold, February is the month for it. Ironically, January can be quite pleasant.
I've been to Arkansas, Tennessee, Texas etc and have been looking up their climates as I've had thoughts of maybe relocating to one of these areas but now I'm seeing how it's much colder there than their normal average temperatures for February. I realize weather is unpredictable but I'm trying to gauge whether things are changing possibly related to the grand solar minimum. It seems people in states like these and maybe the ones south of there would have the best idea of whether this weather is normal or not, by this I mean over the past ten years or so has this been normal that the temperatures drop this much this time of year?
Over all the weather around the globe has become anomalous but trending down. We have been smashing records all over the world, records last set a 100 years ago. So it is getting cooler, which is normal but one year's weather my not be noticeably different then the next. Like the frog who doesn't know their in a freezing pond, no one may notice a big change. A few growing days here and a few growing days their however means the little changes will have a big impact on society excess food. It's normal. I will say where I am at, this is colder for February than it has been the last few years. Last few years January was brutal and February started getting better, but still damn cold. This year January was mild so of course, February is brutal.

Yes. This is somewhat normal.
It's normal. It gets cold every winter. Heck 3-4 years ago we had below 0 weather in March.
Where I live it is usually the coldest in February, along with some big snow storm in a year. It's always the coldest in February.
If anything, this is warmer than usual here in east TN.
