Close enough. The functional point is that the elites follow a religion and a code of behavior that is separate and alien to the beliefs of the peasants.

Egypt had a sophisticated understanding of mathematics, and they had clay jar electrical batteries that they used for electroplating. I think the height of their technological understanding was iron smelting, which they would have learned from the Hittites. Probably not computers or nukes, though.

I think that the Egyptian priest-bureaucrat cult went into hiding during the Bronze-age Collapse, and infiltrated the new religions and political systems of the new civilizations that rose up in the aftermath, continuing their occult religious practices in secret while paying lip service to whatever religion was practiced in their particular countries of residence.

Anarchism is just tribalism. Create an anarchist "state" and local warlords will rise to fill the power vacuum. We already see this with the breakdown in law and order in the big cities and the resulting gangs.
