I looked it up and found the source. The claim that the Cap Hill Police officer was attacked by a rioter with a fire extinguisher originated with an AP report on January 7. The sources are described as two unidentified LE officials.

There has been no further info on his tragic passing, except for recent report coming from ABC mentioning a medical condition.

It seems many took that 1 line fire extinguisher angle & ran wild w it, without any evidence to support their conclusions. Irresponsible but expected.
