Aren't mass murderers created as a result of fucked up upbringing or massive civil war-scale conflict? I don't think a bunch of isolated and depressed people are going to go shoot up a mall... seems more likely they'll hop on their virtual worlds and try to dissociate.

Depending on your perspective, this has been going on for a lot longer than January... we've had "If you see something, say something" for decades, and the pandemic brought out snitching for gatherings of families and friends.
