Fake news. Robin Sage is the last stage of the JFKUSASWCS (SWCS) training pipeline for green beanies. Candidates are broken up into teams and randomly assigned "lanes" (missions) that are within the purview of the US Special Forces. Some teams are assigned missions where they train notional guerrillas fighters to overthrow governments, similar to the Montagnard in Vietnam (many Vietnamese immigrants actually participate in that lane, and it's point of pride in that community). That is also the primary mission of the US special forces. Other teams may draw lanes focusing heavily on direct action missions; reconnaissance and establishing surveillance networks; diplomatic security; training foreign military units etc. It's the class's final exam and happens several times a year. The lanes are run in the same communities each time, so the locals will often assist and play parts in the scenarios. This is almost entirely conducted on private property so the property owners are involved in the training. Iirc you could even volunteer to be a citizen of "Pineland" if you wanted to.
