The US supported Ukraine when Russian was winning, The US supporting Russia now that Ukraine is winning. Is the goal to keep the War going so that the US can keep Europe hurting with Gas and food, to continue to collect drone warframe battle data for future wars, deplete military man power and weapons and to de populate the Russian people which many of Russians are poor and stubborn people what the New World Order would call "undesirables". Stop looking at World Leaders as forces that are fighting each other, its all a World stage where the World Leaders act like they are fighting, the real goal is controlling the masses. Maybe Russia will use a nuke which will lead to more War and Trump will get to point to it as "look see I was right about Iran." We're not, though. Just this month we shipped out another few hundred million dollars worth of armored vehicle components, munitions, and maintenance equipment to Ukraine. And last month, the State Department approved a $2.68 billion "sale" of air defense equipment to Ukraine - I say "sale" because basically the way it works is the U.S. and European countries give money to Ukraine and then Ukraine uses it to buy our equipment.
You're probably thinking of the October 9 deal that Trump cut with Putin to buy 1.8 million metric tons of diesel. That one's pretty fucking transparent; Trump is hoping the deal will lower gasoline prices juuust long enough for some undecided voters to say "Oh, maybe the Republicans aren't so bad after all, I'll vote a Republican ticket then."
It seems to have backfired, because so many Republicans hate Russia and feel betrayed.
Frankly, it was a stupid plan from the get-go. That's part of the reason I struggle with theories about "global elites" controlling us all - so many of America's most powerful men are so fucking stupid that it's hard to imagine any kind of coherent plan for social control coming from them.

And this really fits what I've personally observed about ultra-rich people: they're petty, and they're horny, and they love to show off their toys, and they act a lot more like overgrown teenagers than like architects of global control. There is not a single scenario where this plays out as true.
Depends on what you define as "winning." There's not a single scenario where Zelenskyy triumphantly marches into Moscow and puts his boot on Putin's face, but there are plenty of scenarios where Ukraine is restored to its 2021 borders and both sides claim victory.
There's probably even a scenario where Ukraine gets restored to its 2013 borders and Russia's ensuing claims of victory are completely preposterous.
