A leftist group’s promised “bombshell documentary” about a closeted conservative U.S. senator who had utilized male escorts turned out to be an embarrassing dud after the senator turned out to be the now-deceased Lindsey Graham, who was long known to even his fellow Republicans as “Lady Graham.”
The shock value of “outing” Graham as a homosexual after he is dead and buried is on par with outing Liberace as gay after his death.
Far from a game-changing, jaw-dropping election year “October Surprise,” the 30-minute video titled “The CLOSETocracy” has invited heaps of ridicule.
“This might be one of the least surprising October ‘surprises’ in the history of the world … ” conservative commentator Ned Ryan said.
“Apparently there is a bombshell documentary being released today by Cenk Uygur revealing that Lindsey Graham was a homosexual,” X user Magills said. “In other news, scientists confirmed water is indeed wet.”
“Their huge get was a dead guy who everyone knew was in the closet?” John Cardillo asked. “The left is dumber than we thought.”
“Imagine thinking this is some blockbuster scoop,” The Federalist co-founder Sean Davis said. “How embarrassing.”
And while the documentary’s assertion that Graham was a homosexual rests solely on the testimonies of the three former male escorts, no other evidence — no paper trails, photos, or corroborating witnesses — are provided by the producers.
“Just watched. Pretty weak sauce,” Daily Wire podcast host Michael Knowles said. “Three apparent prostitutes make a bunch of unfalsifiable claims about a dead guy and then urge the audience to vote for Democrats because gas is too expensive or something. Not quite Upton Sinclair!”
“If this is the best the Dems have got, the GOP must be cleaner than I thought. Also, if this is the best proof that the late Sen. Graham was light in the loafers, the man might well have been straight as an arrow!” Knowles declared.
Although there are no graphic images included in the video, some of the descriptions of what allegedly went on between the three male escorts and Sen. Graham are extremely graphic. And, frankly, their personal stories are tragic: These were young guys from poor families — at least one of whom was a high school student kicked out the house by his father after he told him he was “gay” — who couldn’t earn enough money to survive so they veered into sex work. They come out as sympathetic characters in that regard.
On another serious note, Rev. Ben Johnson said that the documentary proves “Beltway blowhards who praised Graham’s ‘moral clarity’ on foreign policy have none.”
Graham was a neocon through and through who for decades had advocated for war in the Middle East and elsewhere, leading some to believe that he had perhaps been blackmailed by foreign forces, including Israel.
“Graham’s bloodthirsty foreign policy and lifelong campaign to entangle America in never-ending wars of choice that have no bearing on our national interests should have long ago discredited Graham and those who promoted this alleged pederast among the rank-and-file as a moral exemplar,” Johnson explained.
Johnson included a short video compilation of some of Graham’s most outrageous statements. “I will be with Israel until (my) dying day,” Graham declared.
