It's funny because I can't drive more than a mile or 2 here in the Denver area, but I can drive 18 hours straight in rural areas and it's as if I never had the injury. I also can drive really great at night and stay focused, but the daytime is a lot more taxing on my head. I tend to go grocery shopping early in the morning or at night. Cloud cover brings me back to life also. It's amazing how much I learned about how the brain is processing all that other data and ignoring it. That's why it's easier when it's dark, because nothing to ignore if you can't see it
I understand (edit: almost) completely. For my part, I have sunlight issues and brain pain (edit: and nerve problems) but I mostly manage. I relate things like this to living life on hard mode but you do find work arounds. Glad you're recalibrating well, fren.
Thank you. I know God has a reason, I just don't know the reason. It all works out. I'm getting much better and that was the scariest part because it felt like nothing was changing for a year. It probably was for my benefit because I was going full throttle at 63 and everyone had expectations that I could do more. My friend said this accident made me my age. Before this, most people thought I was in my late 40's.
TBIs are very serious but not always incapacitating in the technical sense. I vouche for the spicy guy's integrity.
