US Law Enforcement Warns of ‘Anti-Tech Extremism’ as AI Hatred Grows
As Americans stew over the looming risk of job-stealing AI and data centers in their back yards, the feds are raising the alarm about a new category of threat, documents obtained by WIRED show.
The risk of losing jobs to AI is looking a bit overstated, as we found out that Uber accidentally spent half a billion dollars on tokens by April this year, which was its annual budget, with little productivity gains to show for it.
Much more serious is the fact that these AI companies are still passing the cost of the electricity onto the rest of us. There needs to be a legal change where any user above some threshold has to be separate from the ordinary electric grid and their usage cannot impact ordinary users. AI is cool but we cannot tolerate these companies running these hype products which are already unprofitable and getting the public to pay for a bunch of the electric costs.
Co (together) sta (to stand)...nature delivers each being apart from one another. The cost of standing together implies selling self out to another.
Public implies standing (st) together (co)...that's the hidden cost ones privacy pays when joining others.
Guess who doesn't have to pay any co (together) st (to stand)? Each chosen one!
As someone who lived through the mass introduction of PCs and cell phones, AI isn’t the enclosure movement in England to send hordes to the margins. Yes these technologies were disruptive but it took years and ultimately decades for the effects to wash through the economy and ultimately transform portions of it.
So, yea, I agree.
6g data centers are a necessity for a surveillance state. How are all these drones and robo dogs gonna stay powered up?!
Isn’t 6G wearables and implants?
Also, we pretty much have the surveillance state now I would say.
