IDK for sure, but I think the level of previous generations, who made all that breakthroughs before 1970, at least partially was inspired by necessity to solve many kids problems in childhood, and solve them using own brain and thinking. From simple stealing a little fertilizer from neighbour farm to build a sugar rocket, to developing a very complex plans of how to miss a school without parents knowledge and without any consequences. Many things was not allowed for kids at the time and many kids still did them, developing their brains and learning to think finding a way to achieve prohibited entertainment. And kids decided what they need themselves.
Today modern kids don't have much to solve. I think it was done intentionally, to spare place in kids minds for all that fictional problems pushed from evil, like gender crap or some other shit.
Now, kids will have to think to get access to things they want by inertia. Internet become a system than specifically built to guarantee easiest possible access to anything promoted as necessary or wanted. And this system create pure consumers who used to get everything without any efforts and a single thought.
PS: This equally will be useful for adults too. Adults should finally start to think too.
