For a good reason. Right now, if it were to be open, the probability of a terroristic action would be very high. Not something they want at the moment. Reality check

They could up security instead if that was the case. What you're basically saying is Israel is incapable of stopping any form of backlash.
Maybe, but if I was an Iranian terrorist, killing a bunch of Christians on Easter at the place where Christ rose from the dead might be a public relations lose/lose scenario. I'm skeptical.
