Sure, but there's a visible body and a historic Church which keeps the traditional teachings, sacraments, apostolic succession and the true faith. Salvation is only found within the Body of Chris, i.e. His Church. The Church is not an abstraction just like God isn't an abstract being but an incarnated person in this world.
