So I get this is bad, but can someone explain how this is any different than what we currently have going on? Other than having to show ID for more things.
If you have a smartphone, you have to have an ID to get carrier service.
If you have a computer on the internet, you have an ISP, and your ISP requires an ID to sign up.
Most email services, social media, etc require a phone number- your phone number that required an ID to get.
They already know who is using each device, how is this different?
The data this time will be delivered to AI Datacenters to identify potential dissidents and impure elements and get them killed.

If it's a clone of the laws recently passed in California and Colorado, it'll apply to all computers, not just phones. Including those running Linux or BSD.
Why would you need the app store on a computer?
The law in CA/CO requires an "age signal" to be available to all apps, tied to user accounts. Red Hat has already begun concocting a D-Bus-based daemon for compliance with that law.
The law we're talking about is called the "App Store Accountability Act", but it's really about age verification, so it might be the same law.
