Why not? if it's part of the script. It's not like he was asked to get naked. He was allowed a shower and got to change his outfit 3 times during the flight to US.

There was no EMP. Something much simpler than that. Venezuelan army was ordered to stand down. According to Lieutenant Colonel Edgar Alejandro Lugo Pereira, a member of the active reserves, the Venezuelan army could have repelled the US attack, but chose not to, fearing a more serious invasion.
Pereira said in a conversation with RIA NewsCaracas Venezuela chose to negotiate rather than fight. And the Venezuelan government decided not to respond to the invasion.
